Our organization currently uses the Android operating system for company mobile devices in every department. Some users prefer comparable operating systems, but overall Android is an easy-to-use software for all users and allows flexibility for all our devices. Privacy controls are an important aspect of our decision making and so far we have not experienced any issues. Donor, volunteer, and staff information are secured at all times. We even have one employee who requires hearing aid services, which is offered with Android.
  • Custom apps.
  • Great security.
  • Multi-device compatibility.
  • Issues with bugs in upgrades.
  • Quick battery drain.
  • Overheating issues.
Android is a great solution for our users for communicating through calls and texts, however, we have a slower response time through web browsers than with other products used in the past. These issues are minimal and overall we are happy with Android products. We are unable however to use Apple Pay and other comparable apps that are popular at this time.
  • Strong communication tool for donors and volunteers.
  • Strength in protection.
  • Great apps for software design.
We have tablets, phones, and other mobile devices that are supported by Android operating systems. We have also used various apps found on all these devices that provide a quick solution to multiple needs, like marketing and donation support. About six years ago we were also using a scanning track inventory tool from Android that worked well.
There have been only two times that I have needed to contact Android support for technical issues and both times I received some support. I received more helpful tips from Youtube, so I now bypass support and try to do most of our troubleshooting on my own with these support videos online.
